There's no defense against a lucky streak!
We agreed to play on Diamond difficulty in HotA. I spent 1 rest, and the map generated with a blocked start – but what a start! A zombie horde, a +2/+2 cloak, 10-19 demons for the Sword of the Dead, and 36 nomads for the Runes of Inevitability (-what a lucky opponent!). Jeremy was in the tavern. Scouting showed that there was no money, but there was a stash of horses. Further scouting also showed where the opponent was and that there wouldn't be much to do in the second week. I decided to take the horse stash and go all-in, taking advantage of the situation. On day 116, I rushed to the opponent and took the Companion Castle, which he had taken a couple of days earlier, cutting off his army from the castle. On day 117, the opponent attacked Jeremy, who was blocking the passage. After the first round, the opponent paid a ransom and, a couple of minutes later, typed "gg."
Thanks for the game!
