What about new maps? For example, Paragon could top the list of best maps, even though it wasn't created in the early years, but it incorporates the best of the accumulated experience. And a separate question about Chinese maps. For example, there's no Way Home (I stumbled upon it by chance, then found a walkthrough online), and probably many others that I haven't even heard of. And they are unusual. They are quite different from European maps (in my opinion).
