In short, at level 25, all summoned creatures and phantoms (or are they too?!) sing their swan song!
Banishment affects all units summoned or called by demons, and a phantom duplicates a selected friendly unit => a phantom is not a summoned unit, so banishment does not affect the phantom.
Yeah, especially when a group of imps appears and all the mana runs out, and magic becomes useless.
