Heroes VII

Please help, I've been struggling for a day now and can't launch Heroes 7. It constantly crashes to the desktop when the game starts loading after the intro videos. A circle spins in the bottom right corner for 1 minute, and then it crashes to the desktop.

CPU: Phenom 1055T
GPU: Radeon 6670 3GB
4GB RAM

I formatted the hard drive and installed a clean Windows 7 64-bit build 7601.

I tried two builds, one with Uplay and one with Maxagent.
With the Maxagent build, the necessary Visual C++ components were automatically installed.
DirectX says it doesn't need to be updated.
Framework 4.5.2

But it still crashes((( What should I do? Help!
