I resisted as much as I could. After losing all my troops defending the Phoenix lair (20 air elementals, level 1 Phoenix, 6 psionicists, 20 fire elementals, level 1, 20 water elementals, level 1), I was left with 15 psionicists, level 1.
If in the first final battle, I had removed the haste from the angels and bought something instead, and cast Implosion on the angels instead of summoning those weak creatures, it might have been a bit easier for me later on. But even then, you probably would have still won. Morale and the lack of a large army were the deciding factors.
It was a close game, and we had similar stats.
