My opinion: this tactic works very well in online play. By the way, the legendary "Shahtyor" (Shakti, a hero from the Dragon Castle specializing in Troglodytes) has this skill and uses it very effectively (in skilled hands).
As for using this skill in offline tournaments, its value decreases: any battle can be replayed three thousand times, and you can arrange your units in any way you like, etc.
