On the first day, I started with a casual game in the familiar Treasure map and 3 Utopia maps.
Experienced players would have ended their report here, but I want some adventure.
I identified 2 major mistakes – I engaged in combat, even though my task was to stay put and eliminate the stack of demons under the Utopia map.
And when I finally saw the opponent, I ran straight along a one-way path (I somehow decided it was a two-way path and that's how it should be), ending up in a swamp without a road, luckily there was an exit nearby.
Despite the tavern showing the opponent had an army advantage, I attacked, weakening the units with harpies.
50 demons, 3 angels, 7 ifrits, 50 ogres, and some minor units.
The opponent had 5 birds, about 50 air units, 14 ducks, 7 psykers, 100 skeletons, and +1 to speed. Neither of us had mass spells, but the wyverns caused demoralization in 4 out of 5 rounds of the battle, and that decided the outcome.
Thanks to the opponent for the game.
