I was looking through old tournament threads, and in some previous tournaments, separate groups were created for those who wanted to play HotA. Here, the situation is different; SoD is the official version of the tournament. Most of the people who voted against HotA said that if someone wants to play HotA, they can, but they want to play SoD against me. If one player doesn't agree to play HotA, then by default, games are played on SoD. Besides the negative opinions, I would like to hear why not? You say the tournament is official and regular, and there have always been only SoD games in the groups. But why not make changes that are primarily interesting to the participants? Listen to the opinions and wishes of the participants and add to the tournament rules what is interesting to them? Essentially, the games in the tournament are the same as fun games, only with a competitive element that adds extra interest. I believe that the tournament is held for the participants and should be primarily interesting to them. Adding HotA as an alternative version of the tournament will not affect its conduct in any way.
You're either imagining things or overestimating yourself. Did you ever see HotA in the Novice tournament before? People in the Novice tournament mainly learn to play, and the tournament is for adapting newcomers to the forum. Think with your head about why SoD was the main template in all tournaments; it clearly wasn't because all the previous organizers weren't as smart as you! Another point: so they'll play HotA, then what? HotA isn't in any of the official tournaments, or are you suggesting that they play HotA there too if both players want to? Then create separate tournaments if there are so many people who want to play that version, and everything will be fine. Otherwise, for the most part, Novice provided interesting players as an output; I don't think anything will come of it with this organization...
