I am willing to end the debate, but I frankly disagree with your opinion, Ganymede, about the thoughts of Christianity and believers. Do you remember Mother Teresa? Don't you believe in self-sacrifice? Don't you believe in a mother's boundless love for her son/daughter? What kind of egoism are you talking about? Your ideology is frightening for the world; I don't want to live in a world where everyone thinks like you. It's a cruel, heartless world based on personal gain. Many people are inherently kind; for them, doing good and enduring hardships is a blessing, and it is different from the selfish benefit that you described.
