What's wrong with HotA? In my opinion, it's definitely better to play it on mirror than SoD in its current version. Starting stacks are roughly the same, Necromancer doesn't rule as much...

By the way, yes, despite all its flaws, HotA is currently much more suitable for mirror than SoD. In my humble opinion, insisting on the HotA version was a good decision by the organizers.
