Need help with creating scripts and mods.

I really want to learn how to create mods. Are there any manuals for modding? I would greatly appreciate it if experienced players (those who have the time) could write a comprehensive guide on mods, models, textures, abilities, effects, and other aspects. I have many ideas and would be very grateful.
