Learning spells is a relatively quick process. Mastering magic, however, is a different story. To master a particular school of magic, you need to understand its General principle, and that takes years; everything else – that is, specific spells – comes almost automatically once you've grasped the General principle; you can even invent your own. But, of course, it's much better and more reliable to use already existing ones...
Around noon, Dobrynya promised to take me to Torrod, who was supposed to provide me with my "mount." I don't know what kind of mount it is and why Lord Novizard pronounced that word with a special intonation, but Dobrynya refused to explain, assuring me that it would be a surprise. As an elf, even if only half, I certainly love surprises... But I love surprises that I already know something about!
