Great map! I played as the Elves (the light faction) on Veteran difficulty, and it was tough. Alaric was particularly challenging – he somehow amassed a large army and acquired powerful artifacts. It's a waste to spend troops on him when the forces are equal, and he doesn't attack cities. But in the end, I managed to catch him without reinforcements towards the end of the week and defeated him with great pleasure. I enjoyed the battle with the General – by that point, I already had True Luck against the Urgash's Call. The demonic super ability combined with the elven one is unmatched; the archers killed an entire unit per turn, and the General quickly fell. Although, I might not have been able to defeat him outside of a city... Overall, it's a shame there's no sequel.
