I always thought that rest periods due to generation bugs are taken from the day the bug is discovered, and that this point is clearly stated in the rules. I remember an episode from a tournament on Balance – the opponent on turn 112 saw that he had only one path to the Guardian Order (tech cross), but didn't request a restart, waiting until I took my turn 113, and only then demanded a tech cross. I considered this an attempt to trick me into giving him a free turn 113 and refused to grant the tech cross, suggesting that if he disagreed, he could complain to the Arbitration Committee.
