I'll take the liberty of disagreeing with this statement. Pirates very often made 2-in-1 versions, meaning both English and Russian, although the Russian one was half-filled with English fonts. But those who played the English ones didn't care about that. Moreover, many pirates, wishing to beat their competitors, released the English version a couple of weeks earlier than others released the translated one (most of my games are indeed English)... So getting the original was much easier than it is now in the era of localizations. Because now the only option for games that have been localized is to order them from online stores at Western prices.
