Well, the tempo was actually quite right. The execution was lacking – the optional attacks of the gnolls (sometimes 5, sometimes 20) led to a shortage in the 116th round. If there had been enough, then Tyras with 6 vivas and an expert gatling gun would have surged forward very quickly.
