We played without restarts. In week 4, the opponent attacked my main city and almost wiped out all my troops (didn't have enough for a ransom) – against an expert in tactics, an expert in air, and 6 firebirds. We continued the game.
I took one non-main city from Intofire with a scout. He then went looking for me and, after a couple of weeks, arrived at my city but didn't attack; instead, he continued down the road to take other cities. I bought all the available troops and attacked his main city, winning (expert slowdown + expert speedup decided the outcome). Intofire surrendered.
