The Syches wait until the nearest patrol of 2 people is at a relatively low altitude from their position and outside the line of sight of the rest of the enemy forces, and, using the element of surprise, suddenly and quickly descend from the mountains and begin to attack the patrol with knives, rifle butts, and boots.

Alex is right. The general idea is to unexpectedly attack the patrol and force them into hand-to-hand combat. (we have 3 people with knives, they have two, in the worst case, Mold can provide support from a distance)
How to do it - jump on them from above / wait for them to pass, and come out from behind them / grab them by the legs / throw a lasso - this depends on the situation. The characters can choose the most appealing option themselves.

A small question: what will you do with the rest of the patrols? Will you quickly run to them and, prolonging the element of surprise, also beat them with rifle butts and boots?

And the really smart ones will be carrying iron! :)
