AI is more of a term from science fiction. It implies intelligence, that is, the creation of an artificial mind. Now, people are just talking about AI, but no one has ever seen it.
At my university, one of the leading scientists in this field taught the subject "artificial intelligence," so I know what I'm talking about.
No one implies an artificial mind when using the term "artificial intelligence." This is a common misconception that arose due to a poor translation. In the original (in English), the term sounds like "artificial intelligence," not "artificial intellect," and it doesn't have any fantastic meaning. However, at some point, "artificial intelligence" was translated, and this name became established in literature.
If we rephrase Wikipedia a bit, "artificial intelligence" is systems capable of solving creative problems that are traditionally considered the prerogative of humans.
This THING comes to its own conclusions, that is, it determines the most suitable way to solve a problem.
for example, in the case of war (if we talk about "automation"), it will determine the optimal strategy for conducting hostilities.
In both cases, the program makes decisions in conditions of uncertainty, modeling "reasonable human logic."
By the way, regarding the wording.
It is used to perform difficult calculations (analysis and planning), control equipment, and for commercial, military, and medical applications (diagnosis and treatment).

В тихой однообразной жизни всегда так бывает: каждый отдельный день бесконечно долог, но месяцы и годы мчатся с непостижимой быстротой.
