Yeah, there's one really cool guy who isn't a maniac, but a protector, and he doesn't have 80%, but "only" 75%, and he's right here. But either he doesn't understand this, or he enjoys dying at the whim of a coin flip in a 75% game.
I'm not devastated by my own random death, no. And even less so by a "coin flip."
You could add a GM feature to your next set: "every turn, with a probability of X%, a random player and their entire team are instantly killed." This will definitely add a lot of excitement, without which Mafia isn't Mafia.
Predictably, you're going from one extreme to another, trying to prove your point, when no one has even said that there should be a lot of randomness in Mafia. However, it seems that most of the others don't quite understand what they're "discussing."
But the fact remains that this medal has a rather unpleasant downside, and in many cases it is associated with emotional negativity...
Those who can't come to terms with their own death due to probability are, at the very least, very strange people. I can believe that you might get hanged, and I often do, but to be upset about random death... well, no comment.
