#9 Resolution on non-interference in the affairs of other countries.
Annuls resolution #7, amends resolution #8 (international police are only authorized to act with the consent of the country in which the investigation will be conducted).
Members of the Security Council undertake not to interfere in the internal politics of member states, whether through military intervention, political or economic pressure. Exceptions may include:
— A request from the current (de facto) representatives of power in a country to restore order.
— Countries in which, during unrest or for any other reason, there is no government as such, provided that the situation poses an international threat.
— Countries that refuse to comply with resolutions adopted by the Security Council (in this case, this refers exclusively to various kinds of sanctions, but not military intervention).
