The AI also receives 3 stacks and a level 2 structure, so it has more troops than in Soda (as does the player). In addition, a bug was fixed that caused the AI's ranged stacks to not deal damage when fighting neutrals. There were no special bonuses for the AI or any changes to its algorithms; it uses new objects and abilities according to algorithms similar to how it uses similar things in Soda.
Here's an example from a game where the AI is defending a Cove: I position a unit to attack the last stack of neutrals, but the AI ignores the unit and runs to a stack of level 1 units that it can only reach on the next turn. I didn't see this happen with anyone in Soda. This happened in a battle against centaurs, and they were running towards a stack of imps.
