Do you mean you defeated 6 waves of enemy heroes? So, they systematically attacked you right after you captured the first Castle of Haven? Or were all 6 of them just hanging around nearby?
No, they all gather at the fork gradually, one by one, until you take all their castles. You can have a maximum of 7 or 8, but the computer can buy new units, and we can't hire anyone in this mission, if that matters.
