Yes, even after 2,000 years, they haven't decided about animals... Perhaps because animals don't care about the question of good and evil. They live strictly according to the laws of nature, and this doesn't fit into the usual human scheme of classifying good and evil.
If a leopard kills a deer, it's not because it wants to do evil, but because it's simply hungry, and it can't survive on anything else (besides meat). How do you classify that?
