I remember a long time ago, I played this mission with a Warrior, and I struggled a lot with these portals. The enemy demon was very actively chasing me, or rather, chasing Shadia. I made a fatal mistake by leaving her without protection and exposing her on the surface. I barely managed to save Shadia and defeat Groll.
This time, I played with a Hero, and thanks to Shadia's dark magic and Railag's spell power, I was able to win battles against 450 dancing blade units, 300 furies, 350 ghosts, and so on.
Overall, I completed the mission without any major problems. I defeated Groll on the second week; he attacked me, and I knocked him out.
PS I'm currently playing the last mission with Railag, and I'm still relying on berserkers, mind control, and spell power.
Timed quests are the most annoying. I don't remember how I did it the first time, but I think I was always dragging Shadia behind Railag. And here they wrote that she can be left somewhere; I'll try that now.
