Not AK, but it seems obvious to me: If Maretti runs there without clearing — at the end of the game we check whether the opponent cleared or not. Accordingly, either it's a tech or the game result stands.

Let me ask differently. Specifically the game between Maretti and Stinger. Stinger cleared the GO and at the adjacent respawn. Maretti runs without clearing the guard, hoping that Sting is there, and finds him! Is that a tech or, if Maretti wins, a Maretti win?
