In short, 8 FBI agents in three cars blocked the road for two criminals in one car and engaged them in a shootout. As a result of the confrontation, two FBI agents were killed and five more were wounded. The criminals, William Matix and Michael Platt, were killed. Before their death, they received 6 and 12 wounds, respectively. Platt's pulse was still detectable when the doctors arrived.
