It was a fun match, Gomonculs vs. Hellight.
Too bad I didn't catch it live... I watched the replay.
Regarding the retreat during the cannon's turn — there's an algorithm that, when one side has overwhelming superiority, offers to retreat, which is what happened.
But this is a retreat, not a buyout. I.e., without the army.
Only the artifacts were saved. Which, in essence, had no further impact...

In my opinion, Hellu played better. With a quick access to Griffin Conservatories and a treasure with full control... and a fast meat buildup thanks to 3 Pegasus caches.
But Gomonculs carried the match... barely managed to get Angels in a Castle on the first week — sacrificed everything for it. Then, with 3 Angels, took the bird stacks and the Naga Bank...
IMHO.
A beautiful game on two fronts — allowed capitalizing on the opponent's mistakes.
Otherwise, Hell with full control would have had time to recover after the wipe in the Dragon Utopia.
