I got completely screwed over with resources – only one and a half roads, one mini-dungeon for the entire game, 2 hives (found the 3rd one on the opponent's territory), and artifacts only dropped on the enemy's territory. I was constantly short on resources, even for hiring units, defending villages from the opponent, and scouting. When the opponent showed up with 20/20 stats, I tried to play it smart, but I didn't put in enough effort and made a mistake, so I decided not to continue. Although, 2 hit-and-run attacks would have wiped out half of his army.
