Please offer some advice.

Heroes 4 Alexander: How do you navigate the flowers and mushrooms in the "Cursed Lands" scenario?

This is a real headache that I've already encountered. Although the description seems to indicate it, I didn't really feel any flowers or mushrooms (not even by touching them with my foot).
There was also some other trick, about how you need to enter somewhere – but I entered in a completely different way than the author suggested (or rather, he said that it's impossible to pass otherwise – apparently, he didn't notice all the loopholes).
Because of these flowers and mushrooms, I just gave up and didn't finish the walkthrough. In the mapmaking section, I have posts with a list of maps that have various problems, making them impossible (or very difficult) to complete. :(
