I laughed for a long time, thank you. You say complex characters, but ask any normal linguist or literary scholar to analyze Perumov's language and his characters. If you remove their lengthy arguments about it, you can hear a professional opinion that is very different from yours. His plot twists and storylines are also very unexpected, especially in "The Stations of the Mage." It's all just (childish) unexpectedness.

Please, happy belated April Fool's Day! I haven't read "Wanderings of the Mage" (I know the plot in brief), but here I meant not the plot of one book, but the entire "Ordered" series. Regarding literary scholars - by the way, one of his books is on the list of required reading for 11th grade in some schools (the information is not 100% verified, but this is not an April Fool's joke, as I've heard about it for a long time from several sources).

By "serious role-playing," I mean a game with a large number of thoughtful and attentive people. Among Perumov's fans, I don't personally know any such people, although I know quite a few fans of this author. And do you often participate in role-playing games, that you've noticed such "ambiguous" trends?

And here I wasn't talking about Perumov's role-playing being superior to Tolkien's. I was talking about the excessive harshness of judgments. I don't participate in role-playing games, but I often visit the Internet.

In a debate, there are no winners, it's not a race or a problem that can be solved unequivocally. And who shouts the loudest is not an indicator.

I also laughed; I meant not the forum chatter (as it usually happens with us), but the competition that took place on Litforum.

Although I don't claim to have literary talent, I could probably write a couple of pages, but I wouldn't sign my name to it; I would be ashamed to associate myself with something like that.
