I started playing in June, before the newbie summer of '14, and played almost exclusively on the SMK for the entire months of June and July. I managed to get somewhat familiar with online play. My first games on Jebus in July were terrible, even though I had watched a lot of streams and replays. In general, it took me about 4 months of playing before I was ready to play properly on any of the 5 newbie templates. I completely agree with Romantica on this issue. Even in this thread, in some reports, it doesn't even come to a full-blown battle; on Jebus, people can spend 2 weeks on respawn and lose on GO, wasting 10+ hours on the game, and on HL, they can spend 2 months looking for each other. However, adding Panic and Balance, for example, is perfectly feasible.
