The simplest, and also the most popular template at the moment is Jebus. You don't need to know the scheme at all, and you can play it up to level 137 (well, 1 out of 50 games might last longer), unlike SMK, where 22x or 23x turns are considered quite normal.
Just something for future newbies to keep in mind.

Of course, Jebus :D. All our newbies know how to take level 7 lairs, how to properly place chains, and how to go to the center like level 117 or at most level 121 players... I've read several reports from newbies on Jebus – they reach level 13+, then run around, and somewhere around level 22+ they get to the Fortress. It seems like it just doesn't sink in that there are many people playing here with 5-10 years of online experience.
I wonder if it's possible to organize at least one tournament without any "dad" advice on how to improve the rules? :D
