I probably also tended to develop the Path of Tears more often due to my natural inclination towards peacefulness, but the effectiveness of one path or another depends on the corresponding faction. For example, in my opinion, developing the reputation for the Path of Tears is a losing strategy for Inferno, because, as far as I remember, the summoned creatures through selection don't even have time to enter the battle. Therefore, focusing on it is a foolish and unwise idea. I think that if you are going to develop the Path of Tears, it should only be for a faction like Haven. All others (including the Stronghold) should develop the Path of Blood.
