I ran it with administrator privileges.
But it still says something like, "A problem occurred that caused the program to stop working. Windows will close this program, and if there is a known way to fix the problem, it will notify you."
- But it doesn't say what the problem is, where it is, or what the solution is.
And it doesn't say who or how it will be fixed.
I contacted technical support, and the answers were the same. First, I sent them system testing reports, and now I'm unsuccessfully trying to check the integrity of the files in the Uplay PC library. Presumably, this is in the Uplay client; if you click on the game title under the avatar, there should be a small triangle on the "Play" button somewhere. There should be a submenu somewhere there called "Check Files," but I haven't found it yet.
Or maybe the Uplay PC library is located somewhere else?

I'm going through all this just out of curiosity. I've already suggested this game as a gift to several friends. Surprisingly, no one wants a buggy, licensed version that causes confusion. Everyone prefers working pirated copies...

I received another email from technical support, but this time with instructions to fix the problem that are so convoluted that even the devil would get confused.
Just for fun, I did everything that was described. As expected, it didn't help at all. )))
It's clear that they decided to play a joke on me. Laughter aside, I still want to solve the problem just on principle...
In the end, I decided to find a solution myself using the old, reliable method of trial and error.
I installed the Uplay launcher by downloading it from the website. I downloaded the game directly from the website.
I completely deleted the folder: C drive/Users/user/My Documents/ and deleted the Might & Magic Heroes Vl folder there.
I did think to copy the saved games from that folder.
If you're going to do something similar, copy the entire folder. When you launch the game, it will create a new folder, and you might be able to move some files from the copied old folder into it.
The game launched for me, but the problem is that all the progress in the "campaign" is gone. And there's no Russian localization either. How can I solve the problem with the Russian voice acting now?
