Caras Galadhon is a hill in the forest of Lothlórien, where the capital of Lothlórien was located in the Second and Third Ages. Celeborn and Galadriel resided there.
Galadriel came to Middle-earth in the 1st year of the First Age and settled in Beleriand with her brothers. There, she often visited the halls of Thingol, her relative, in Doriath, where she met Celeborn and fell in love with him.
Menegrot (Sindarin: Menegroth, meaning "Thousand Caves") is, in J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium, an underground city in Doriath, where the king of the Elven people of the Sindar, Thingol, and the queen Melian resided.
