Yes, it certainly develops your mind. But for me personally, going through all possible combinations seems very boring and tedious. I found a good combination of skills (earth magic + water magic) and troops (either Castle, Tower, or Rampart). That's it. And the fact that the random number generator isn't on my side – well, that's not a big deal; it can always be fixed with a Save Game editor.
