And you can't play as yourself.

Honestly, it was news to me that you can play as a nation other than your own. It's a pleasant surprise. Because I suspect I'll have plenty of time to play as my own faction before I get to the experience grind. But I still don't see the point of the ban. What difference does it make who the player chooses? The main thing is that they enjoy it.
