God... Truth or fiction?

Please provide specific examples. As far as I know, until 1914, the Ottoman Empire was considered one of the most religiously tolerant states. Non-Muslims had all the necessary conditions:
1) The opportunity to trade without fearing competition from Muslims.
2) The opportunity to engage in usury.
3) Exemption from military service.
4) Freedom to practice their faith (for a small tax).
After that, it is absurd to talk about the oppression of non-Muslims. Moreover, as soon as one converted to Islam, opportunities for a rapid career opened up.
Allah is the most religiously tolerant God.
Just don't extrapolate modern Islamic fundamentalists onto Muslims of the past.
