It was Diabler who received the technical defeat because he had time for one more game, but he withdrew. Cost was just lucky that this game was against him. We cannot insist that he did not want to play a game with Diabler and, based on this, assign him 0 points, unless he admits it himself.

After that, player cost receives a win for free. I think he doesn't even know about it. But now, thanks to him (this one point), he will advance to the next stage, having lost 2 matches and giving up on the tournament.

How will he do that if he is disqualified? The remaining opponents will prove to the judges (not on the forum) that the player avoided games with them, and that's it.

Now, regarding the situation, do not associate Berger with it. Most of the games have ended. And the places in the group should be determined as follows: 1 The, 2 Kashei, 3 my place, and 4 Vinceras, judging by common sense, or a match between the absentee and them.

It is Berger and the points, because when Diabler's results are nulled (although it is strange to null 4 fully played games out of 5 possible), and, as you yourself suspect, all of Cost's results are nulled, three players in your group will immediately have 3 points and 4 KBs. This is unfair to those who have actually already played for 4 points.
Most likely, the places will be as they are (unless Cost suddenly reincarnates and makes adjustments), so there is no need to argue or worry.
