I was just really afraid that because of this poll, the Mafia would expose me as a Priest (well, there was another role option, yes, but it wasn't entirely clear whether he had a kill or not).

So you answered in a way that any Mafia role would suit you?:D Well, the Mafia knew you weren't hiding the Priest/Warlord option (they know their own), but this caused confusion for the Town.:(

That's exactly why I didn't kill Revan on the second night: I would definitely have used the redirect as the Mafia ;)

Well, it was clear to the Sorceress that her end was coming the next day, so she didn't have time for redirects; it was better to use UD and eliminate Alex, and then have the UD pointed at herself. Which is what the Mafia did...
