Modding

Hello everyone, I have an urgent question. I'm creating my own mod, changing the appearance of creatures, but when I launch the game with the finished mod, nothing changes (the redrawn creatures are not saved). Although the path to the game is set correctly, and the mod format is .h5u. Could the problem be that I have mods with the .pak extension installed? Anyway, please help me.
