but seriously, it's because he was giving himself away during those voting rounds when the Mafia players were stuck.
Either he was hinting in the chat before the call, or he was outright campaigning against hanging someone. And he doesn't want to play anymore; rather than causing drama, he'd rather help in a more engaging way, and besides, I would have voted to hang him anyway.
