The Master and Margarita

The book and the film are, let's say, quite mediocre. If we consider Bulgakov's other works, this one stands out significantly, and I think it's his best. I've read the book three times. I've only seen the film in passing, but it didn't really inspire me. The actors are too familiar. In such works, it's not a good idea to cast famous actors for the film adaptation.

I don't quite agree with you. For people of our time, this book shouldn't evoke such strong emotions. But, if we imagine that we lived in that era, reading the books that were read at that time, it would be a shock! The novel is unlike any other work of that period. Many glorified the system, while Bulgakov wrote about the devil, Yeshua, about witches, and about a writer who, in turn, wrote a novel about the procurator of Judea - and this was during the Soviet era!

Perhaps I believe in the mysticism of this novel - every time I start reading it, something unpleasant happens. But I can't stop... I don't love the novel as a whole. My favorite part is Ancient Judea, the scenes with Pontius Pilate (he's my favorite character in the book).

The series is terrible. Apart from the music, it didn't inspire me in any other way...
