Why is it not effective? He is unlikely to be a Knight (see Sezam's speeches), and there is not much point in eliminating a Warlord. If the Hero is a Warlord, and considering that the Mafia knows the Knight, they also know that the Hero is the Warlord, which means they simply won't target him.
