But burning books is irrational... It's just that someone needed it to happen...
I used to think the same way, but recently I read Huxley's "Brave New World," and the first thing that came to mind while reading it was, "the processes shown in '451' have reached a logical conclusion." Consider burning books a necessary transitional stage. But why is it necessary to execute everyone who manages to exhibit more than one quality? That's a huge number of people.
Where do we go? Where do we end up when we save the world?
