What other games are you playing?

I recently became interested in the game "Heroes of Ruined Empires," based on the eponymous book series that was also recently released. It is advertised as an attempt to combine RTS and RPG; the second part will be released soon, and regarding the first part, I think the idea is good, but the developers didn't finish many details – there is still a lot of work to be done...

In principle, is it possible to completely mix strategy and RPG and create some new genre?
