The ban is based on "I DON'T WANT TO."
We (moderators and admins) don't want to see people we respect insulting each other.
We don't want to give you violation points (which is our direct responsibility on the forum).
We don't want to ban players whose emotions are running high, and who cannot be brought to their senses through personal conversations.
We don't want players to refuse to play in tournaments after an argument here, for political reasons (this has happened in my tournaments).
We don't want there to be a war here.

Wow, you really went for it, changing "I don't want to" to "We don't want to." The essence hasn't changed; Vic was talking to you about the legal basis for the ban, which really doesn't exist. And the poll (where is it, by the way, and why was it deleted?) clearly showed that this topic is of interest to the Community, and the Community would like to discuss it, but "we don't want to and we don't care about the Community's opinion."
Well, if someone can't control themselves and then refuses to play for political reasons, then let them solve these problems themselves. Of course, it's easier to ban than to regulate, but easier doesn't mean better.
