I took a break from the game for a couple of months, and then... this happened:smile24:

why only RoE? To understand the origin of the project and its development we need to go back to 2003. At that time we asked New World Computing to retrieve their archives for all the Might & Magic titles. We found tons of documentation and data but regarding Heroes III we had nothing but the usable source code of Heroes III Restoration of Erathia.

I don't believe this for a second: it's definitely a scam! Who is trying to tell me that they don't have the source code for AB, SoD, and Complete, but "suddenly" found the source code for RoE?! It's easy to guess what's really going on: either they have all the source code, but they decided to follow the established scheme of "making as much money as possible": people will first buy the RoE remake, then the AB remake, then the SoD remake, and finally the Chronicles remake. And if they release Complete all at once, they obviously won't be able to make as much money, and the team will have work for another 2-3 years. The second, less likely option: they don't have any source code at all, and everything is being made from scratch, except for the objects that were taken from the original game resources: graphics, music, and sounds.
We will be able to understand which of the two hypotheses is correct shortly after the remake is released: there should be old bugs left from the RoE source code, which will definitely make themselves known (it is unlikely that they will be fixed before the release of the remake, or they will be fixed, but not all).
Of course, we will wait until it actually comes out and "check out" what it's like, but for now, I will remain loyal to the old, good "Heroes" with the "orthodox" HD mod by Baratortcha. :)
