Necromancer – “Ruler of Erathia” [Campaign 3, Mission 5]
I decided to replay Heroes of Might and Magic V and am playing on version 1.2 because I like how Markel summons skeletal archers. I decided not to build up a large army, but rather to test Godric's strength at the end of the third week. I attacked him with 24 messengers and about 2,000 skeletal archers. He had 12 titans, 20 rakshasas, about 50 mages, 25-30 djinn, about 300 golems, and about 500 gremlins.
I defeated them without much difficulty. Markel is well-leveled. The archers used up all their ammunition. Of course, I remembered the ambush squad and expected about 15-20 angels, 30 paladins, and the rest in larger numbers, but not too many. But I wasn't ready for the fact that there would be about 700 archers, over 1,000 halberdiers, 50 paladins, and, attention(!), 110 angels! WTF???
I've seen and played this final battle several times. There has never been this many angels. I think I will still defeat them, but I am still curious about the principle by which their number is calculated.
